Zašto studirati matematiku?


Matematika kao naučna discipina djeluje fascinirajuće i nalazi se na vrhu piramide znanja. Predstavlja skup ideja koje su i same za sebe lijepe i dovoljne da zaokupe ljudsku pažnju. Bez matematike skoro da i nije moguće zamisliti ni jednu ozbiljnu naučnu disciplinu.

Matematika zauzima veoma važno mjesto u savremenoj nauci gdje se često veoma složeni i teški problemi rješavaju svođenjem na matematičke izraze, formule i jednačine čijim rješavanjem se dolazi do rješenja.

Mogućnosti zaposlenja za svršene studente Odsjeka za matematiku su brojne, tako da gotovo svi studenti odmah po završetku studija brzo nalaze zaposlenje. Najboljim studentima se nudi mogućnost zaposlenja na Fakultetu. Studenti nastavnog smjera veoma lako pronalaze zaposlenje kao nastavnici ili profesori matematike i/ili informatike u osnovnim i srednjim školama, a studentima ostalih smjerova nudi se veliki broj mogućih mjesta gdje mogu naći zaposlenje izvan prosvjete, među kojima su: banke, softwareske kuće.

Možda, uz značaj matematike i informatike, o kojima je do sada bilo riječi postoji samo još jedan, ne manje važan razlog, zašto studirati matematiku: Matematičari i informatičari su rijetki stručnjaci koji i danas bez problema nalaze posao.
